Introduction to the Fortress Key

The Fortress Key is an encrypted USB stick or flash media card that contains all encryption keys, (online) passwords and other important information of a Fortress Linux system. Every Fortress Key can be used as a computer access key, an encrypted roaming user profile and as a portable Live Operating System for (diskless) computers.

With the Palatinux management tool you can easily manage and enforce user-specific policies for every Fortress Key and disable/destruct rogue drives remotely.

Lock down processes, encrypted partitions, hardware ports and input devices by unmounting the Fortress Key from a running computer. Vital processes will keep on working, but every attempt to gain access to, or change other processes, data and settings will be denied. Memory will be cleared from critical information which reduces the chance to a successful "Cold Boot" attack.

When your are forced to give away your Fortress Key and its password, then give the destruction password which destroys all data on a computer in a few seconds after mounting the key.

It is near to impossible to retrieve data and personal information from a running, hibernated or offline Fortress Linux system when the Fortress Key is removed, destroyed or erased.
