The history of Fortress Linux

The first predecessors of Fortress Linux originated in 1996, and today they form the heart of many professional embedded devices, building security systems, ATM / POS systems and highly secured computer systems used in the banking world.

To respond to the increasing user demand for extreme protection against data and identity theft, data mining activities and data destruction by computer criminals, untrustworthy companies, government agencies and other unwanted threats, it was time for these predecessors to evolve into one feature-rich, user-friendly and very secure Linux Operating System called Fortress Linux, which everyone with little knowledge of computer security could use to protect their privacy and sensitive data on their computers.
